Harry "Scott" Shrauner, 75, died Friday, April 5, 2024 in Carthage, Texas.

He was born Dec. 14, 1948 to Floyd and Roberta Shrauner.

He married Lynette Ann Reid Nov. 12, 1976. She survives.

He graduated with the Class of 1966. He attended Kansas State University, where he earned his bachelor's degree in agricultural economics.

He worked as a commercial pilot in both rural New Mexico and Durango, Colo. He and Lynette returned home to Elkhart in 1999, where he resumed his active role on the farm, raising crops and cattle and breeding horses.

He was a member of the Elkhart Methodist Church. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, fishing, camping, hunting, attending horse-related events, studying cattle and horse bloodlines, and flying. 

Survivors also include son, Reid Shrauner and wife, Sarah Jessica; daughter, Lisa Darnell and husband, Chad; grandchildren: Georgia, Max, and Ari Shrauner, Elkhart, and Dylan and Evie Darnell, Carthage, Texas; sisters, Deanna Crook, and Rita Walrod and husband, Phil; brother, Kim Shrauner; and many other family and friends. The family would also like to extend a ‘thank you’ to his caregivers and the staff of HeartsWay Hospice, Carthage, Texas.

• Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Elkhart Methodist Church in Elkhart, with Pastor David Eckert presiding.

Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2024, and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2024 at Robson Funeral Home in Elkhart. 

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the following, Elkhart Methodist Church, Elkhart High School FFA, or ALS Association, in the care of Robson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 606, Elkhart, KS 67950.
