Winnifred "Winnie" E (Cochran) Collins, 96, died Thursday, Nov 21, 2019 in the Morton County Senior Living Center in Elkhart.  

She was born on Oct 12, 1923 to Achilles Calvin "AC." Cochran and Gertrude Patricia (Barragree) "Momo" Cochran on the "Irish Flats" in Meade County.

She married DM "Dude" Collins Oct 19, 1941. He preceded her in death in July 1991. 

She attended school in Kenton, graduating in 1941.

She drove grain trucks, tractors, and raising pigs, turkeys, cattle, chickens, and a garden, all while keeping an organized home and yard. She was also known for being a great hostess

She was also known for being a seamstress, turning feed sacks into clothing for her family. She also pieced quilts out of fabric scraps, made square dance dresses for herself, and matching shirts for Dude.

She was also known for being a great cook, especially the cookies she sent home with her grandchildren. 

She donated both time and money and encouraged others to give to the Boise City cemetery.

Survivors include daughters, Johnny and husband, Jim Watson, Forgan Okla., and Patricia "Boodie" and Lyndol Hale, Guymon Okla.; five grandchildren: Jamye (Hale) and David Wolf, Bethany Okla., Diana (Watson) and Kent Boaldin Elkhart, Sherri (Watson) and Danny Watson, Laverne Okla., David and Christi Hale, Edmond Okla., and Trent and Tania Watson, Forgan Okla.; 14 great-grandchildren: Keaton Tiner-Thompson, Karli Roark, Billie and Jacie Thompson, Jordan and Seth Hale, Trae, Trista and Trevin Watson, Allison and Collin Watson, Stephanie (Boaldin) Wiens, Rene`(Boaldin) May and Kurt Boaldin; eight great-great-grandchildren: Kelton Thompson, Kale, Paisley and Rance Roark, Kate, Jade and Luke Wiens and Ace May; sisters-in-law: Jo Ann Cochran, Keyes, Okla., and Nordeen Cochran, Spearman, TeXas; and many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; and eight siblings: William O'Donald "Pert" Cochran, Calvin Dennis Cochran, John Elmer Cochran, Charles C. "Salty" Cochran, Robert O. "Mush" Cochran, Willard Thomas "Tommy" Cochran, Agnes "Aggie" Beard, and Myrtle Elsie "Sukey" Sellers.

• Funeral services took place Saturday, Nov. 23, 2019 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Boise City, Okla. with Lyndol Hale presiding.  

Burial will take place at the Boise City Cemetery in Boise City, Okla.

Friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, 2019 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Boise City, Okla.
