tammie kurthTammie Elaine Kurth, 58, died Saturday, Aug. 3, 2019 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.

She was born Oct. 1, 1960 in Kansas City, Mo., where she was adopted by George Washington Lee and Betty L. Heger Lee. 

She married Gerald L. Kurth Aug. 16, 1986. He survives. 

She attended Hugoton High School, graduating in 1978. She then attended Seward County College for two years, graduating in 1980 and later attended Fort Hays State University for two years, graduating in 1982. She was then accepted into the Washburn School of Law and graduated in 1986.

She worked for Sharp McQueen Law offices in Liberal and later served 10 years in her own practice. 

She loved music, especially Neil Diamond, and she was the best drummer in the Southwest. 

Survivors also include mother, Betty Lee, Hugoton; sons: Jerron Kurth, Liberal, Bret Kurth, Grand Lake, Okla., and John Kurth, Atchison; daughters, Lisa Matile, Liberal, and Lisa Pipkin, Liberal; sister, Kelly (Bill) Baughn, Boulder, Colo.; grandchildren: Amaree, Maliak, Zarian, Nazriah, Jeshual and Samara Mohamed.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Brandee; father, George Lee; her grandparents; uncle, Gary Heger; and aunt, Erma Heger.

• Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 9, 2019 at Brenneman Funeral Home Chapel in Liberal. 

Burial will be at the Lone Star Cemetery in Woods.

Friends may call  from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, 2019, with family greeting family and friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
