rosalee hendrixRosalee Reed Hendrix, 91, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2019 at Good Samaritan Center in Liberal.

She was born Nov. 18, 1927 to D.H. Reed and Virginia Elizabeth (Logan) Reed in Miami, Texas. 

She married Joye Travis (Jack) Hendrix Feb. 9, 1947 in Perryton, Texas. He preceded her in death.

She spent her high school years in Perryton, Texas and graduated in 1945. She attended Northwest Texas State College at Denton, TX. 

Besides raising her family and being a homemaker, she was a librarian, licensed cosmetologist, owned and operated a laundromat, caregiver to elderly and children and a school bus driver.

She was a Lay Minister and spoke at area churches. She gave children’s sermons and reenacted costumed Bible stories.

Survivors include her daughters: Cynthia DeArmond and husband, Billy, Spearman, Texas, Shanna Medeiros and husband, Danny, Liberal, and Rene’ Avent and husband, Boots, Stinnett, Texas; five grandchildren: Clint DeArmond and wife, Emily, Spearman, Texas, Shanna Lee Kenney, Spearman, Texas, Michelle Keith and Victor, Guymon, Okla., Wes Avent, Canadian, Texas, and Jody Nolen and husband, Wesley, Borger, Texas; nine great grandchildren: Cooper DeArmond, Austin, Texas, Hunter Kenney, Stephenville, Texas, Halston Kenney, Carlsbad, N.M., Barrett Kenney, Spearman, Hope Dale and husband, Bryan, Wichita, Harrison Keith and wife, Kaitlyn, Hardesty, Okla., and Caden, Jenna, and Cutler Nolen, Borger, Texas; and five great-great-grandchildren: Trent Johnson, Wichita, Alexzander Keith, Shane, Shira, and Rhett Keith, Hardesty, Okla.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Dennis “Pete” Farris; grandson, Wil Avent; and grandson-in-law, Jimmy Kenney.

• Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2019 at the Hardesty United Methodist Church in Hardesty, Okla. with Chris Liebman presiding. 

Burial will follow at the Hartville Cemetery southeast of Hardesty, Okla. 

Memorials are suggested to the Hardesty United Methodist Church. Memorials will be accepted at the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home, PO Box 1112, Guymon, OK 73942.
