ron tatroRonald " Ron" Nicholas Tatro, 69, died Tuesday April 9, 2019 at his home. 

He was born Feb. 11, 1950 to Paul and Alice (Bayer) Tatro in Garden City.

He was a graduate of Satanta High School with the Class of 1968. He then went on to attend the diesel mechanics program at the Liberal Area VoTech and graduated with the Class of 1970. 

He enlisted into the US Navy, where he served as a Navy Seabee. 

Upon returning to the states he went to work as a truck driver, working for many trucking companies including Koch Oil Industries and Brady Fluid Services. He retired in 2015. 

He enjoyed attending car shows, drag races, fishing, working on cars, attending singles seniors dances, and drinking coffee at the local breakfast spots. 

He was a member of VFW Liberal #3166 and was also a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Liberal. 

Survivors include son, Shawn Tatro and fiancée, Amy, Amarillo, Texas; three daughters: Tracey Martin and husband, Tank, Liberal, Misty Freeman and husband, Chris, Liberal, and Rebecca Duque and husband, Libra, Liberal; brothers, Charles Tatro and wife, Karen, Strafford, Mo., and Randy Tatro and wife, Lisa, Meade; three sisters, Rita Dennis and companion, Bob, Guymon, Okla., Rose Crum and husband, Mike, Sublette, and Ruth Mann and husband, Lee, Satanta; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, Charles Dennis.

• Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2019 at Miller Mortuary in Liberal. 

Funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 12, 2019 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Satanta.

Burial will follow at the Dudley Township Cemetery in Satanta.

Friends may call from 1 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2019 at Miller Mortuary in Liberal.
