FOWLER – Oscar E. Penka, 80, died Friday, June 7, 2019 at the Minneola District Hospital in Minneola.

He was born July 30, 1938 to Edward Douglas and Ethel Salome (Johnson) Penka in Ensign.  

He graduated from Fowler High School in 1956.  After graduation, he began his career in farming, ranching, and custom cutting.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church, the National Rifle Association, and the Farm Bureau. 

He enjoyed dancing, playing cards, raising cattle, and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include stepson, Bruce Hensley, Grove, Okla.; brother, Bob Penka (Leah), Ensign; three sisters: Mina Jones, Idaho Falls, Idaho, Mary Alice Lee (Gene), Rigby, Idaho, and Veva Immroth (Gary), Blackfoot, Idaho; several nieces and nephews; and a recently adopted granddaughter, Lindsey Teeters.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, David Jones; and one niece.

• Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 2019 at the United Methodist Church in Fowler.   

Burial will follow at the Johnson Cemetery in Ensign.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2019 at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary in Meade, with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. 

Memorials are suggested to the National Rifle Association in care of the funeral home.
