melvin webbMelvin Hardy Webb, 94, died Monday, July 29, 2019 at the Stevens County Hospital in Hugoton. 

He was born July 6, 1925 to Byrd Hardy and Louise (Ritter) Webb on the family farm in Stevens County. 

He married Anna Marie Dyck June 3, 1949 in Buhler. She preceded him in death April 11, 2014. 

He was member of American Legion, Farm Bureau Association, Moscow United Methodist Church, and Pioneer Electric Board. He was on USD 209’s Board of Education for many years. He was a Stevens County Commissioner and mayor of Moscow. He was also a city councilmen for Moscow. 

He enjoyed being a farmer and raising any crop that would grow. His first love was cattle and raising them. 

Survivors include son, Mark Webb and wife, Marilyn, Plains; daughter-in-law, Marla Webb, Sublette; sister, Kara Beth Gosnell, Bella Vista, Ark.; sisters-in-law, Betty Dyck, Minneapolis, and Ferne Webb, California.; six grandchildren: Justin Webb and wife, Melissa, Windsor, Colo., Connie Anton and husband, Philip, Alva, Okla., Eric Webb and wife, Stephanie, Bryan, Texas, Corey Webb, Pittsburg, Brandon Webb and wife, Kelsey, Sublette, and Travis Webb and wife, Randi, Sublette; eight great-grandchildren: Laura, Toby, Isaac, Michael, Anna, Owen, Roman, and Jaxon; many other relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Elliott Conner; son, Tim Webb; brother, Don Webb; and sisters, Vivian Kendrick and Neva Murphy.

• Graveside services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, 2019 at the Moscow Cemetery in Moscow. 

A church service will be at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Moscow with Patty Lahey presiding. 

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today, and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, 2019 at Robson Funeral Home in Hugoton. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, 2019.
