martha millerMartha Ellen Miller, 93, died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2018 at the Long Term Care Unit in Satanta. 

She was born July 3, 1925 to Nina Hampton (Turner) and James Dallas Hampton in Ulysses. 

She married Howard Miller Nov. 30, 1947 in Ulysses. He preceded her in death April 20,1985.

She enjoyed playing softball and running track at Ulysses High School. She also enjoyed fishing. 

She was involved in the Hickok Club, a ladies’ organization, meeting at different neighboring residences and having lunch or tea. 

She enjoyed working in her flower beds and keeping a beautiful yard. 

She loved to bowl and participated on several teams in the area. 

He favorite time of year was Christmas, and she enjoyed celebrating each year with her family.

Survivors include sons, Jerry Miller and wife, Cheri, Sublette, and Tom Miller and wife, Tammie, Quapaw, Okla.; daughter, Kathy Miller and companion, David Hesse, Burlington, Wisc.; grandchildren: Dallas, Clayton, Christopher, and Caitlin; great-grandchild, Ezio; nieces, Michelle, and Kim; and several great-nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by granddaughter, Lindsey Miller; great-grandson, T.J. Woodruff; and brother, James Dallas Hampton Jr.

• Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, 2018 at the Sublette United Methodist Church with Pastor Eddie Pennington presiding. 

Burial will follow the service at the Haskell County Cemetery in Sublette. 

Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, 2018 at the Weeks Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Sublette.
