MEADE – Margaret R. Reimer, 89, died Friday, May 17, 2019 at the Lone Tree Retirement Center in Meade.

She was born Nov. 2, 1929 to Jacob J. and Elizabeth (Lizzie) Rempel Bartel in Meade County.  

She attended the McNulty Grade School in Meade County.

She married Bernhard B. (B.B.) Reimer Aug. 22, 1950 at the Emmanuel Mennonite Church in Meade. He preceded her in death Sept. 8, 1997. 

Throughout the years, she worked at the Lone Tree Lodge in the laundry services, was a volunteer at the Beam Senior Center, and was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Emmanuel Mennonite Church, served as a volunteer AWANA teacher, and a member of the Emmanuel Sewing Circle.  

She enjoyed quilting, sewing, jigsaw puzzles, reading, and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include sons, Larry Reimer and wife, Lorie, Kansas City, and Calvin Reimer and wife, Kathryn, Vienna, Va.; three daughters: Elaine Reimer, Wethersfield, Conn., Mary Wright and husband, Tim, Warminister, Penn., and Arla Reimer, Universal City, Texas; sisters, Bertha Sieffert, Topeka, and Esther Whiteman, Andover; 16 grandchildren: Bill Reimer, Grovetown, Ga., John Parriott, Bonner Springs, Steve Parriott, Bonner Springs, Jennifer Parriott, Kansas City, Andrea Groth, Hiawatha, Luke Holmes, Manhattan, Rachel Perez, Lititz, Penn,, Nathan Wright, Ibague, Colombia, Brian Wright, Macungie, Penn., Dan Wright, Boyertown, Penn., Grady Dyck, Universal City, Texas, Reiner Dyck, Universal City, Texas, Matthew Dyck, Beltsville, Md., Seth Reimer, Vienna, Va., Julia Reimer, Vienna, Va., and Coby Reimer Vienna, Va.; and seven great-grandchildren: Destry Groth and Kayden Groth, Hiawatha, Miles Wright, Macungie, Penn., Rett Reimer and Corbin Reimer, Grovetown, Ga., and Kayla Lanelle and Wyatt Lanelle, Bonner Springs.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; four brothers: Pete, Andy, Martin, and Albert Bartel; and three sisters: Mary Reimer, Kathryn Patton, and Elizabeth Bitikofer.

• Funeral services took place Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at the Emmanuel Mennonite Church in Meade. 

Burial will follow the services in the Emmanuel Mennonite Church Cemetery in Meade.

Memorials are suggested to the Emmanuel Mennonite Church Special Missions Project Fund in care of the funeral home.
