PLAINS – Lora Lucille Cox, 82, died Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2019 at the Lone Tree Retirement Center in Meade.

She was born March 23, 1937 to W.A. “Bill” and Birdie (Young) Hughan in Plains.  

She graduated from Plains High School in 1955.   

She married Ivan R. Cox April 2, 1957 in Clayton, N.M. He preceded her in death Oct. 31, 2008. 

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Plains.  She also enjoyed crocheting, working puzzles, and spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include sons, Jerry Cox, Plains, and Terry Cox, Meade; daughter-in-law, Cathy Davidson and husband, Terry, Guymon, Okla.; brother, Darrell Hughan, Satanta; sister, Loretta Stone, Tribune; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. 

She was also preceded in death by sons, Robert “Bob” Cox, and Paul Cox; seven brothers: Shorty, Bill, Whitey, Dean, Don, Gerald, and Joy Hughan; sisters, Rene Rutherford and Agnes Sidebottom; and granddaughter, Terra Cox.

• Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Plains.  

Cremation has taken place and burial will be in the Plains Cemetery at a later date.
