ken matkinKen W. Matkin, 75, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018 at the Homestead Health and Rehabilitation Center in Garden City.

He was born Aug. 27, 1943 to Homer Leroy and Irene Isabelle (Graves) Matkin in the Epworth Hospital in Liberal. 

He married Mary Ann Haddon May 10, 1986 in Plains. She survives.

He graduated from Turpin High School.

He was a farmer all of his life.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycles, going to car shows and auto races, and gardening.  

He made jewelry and leather crafts.

Survivors also include daughter, Kenann (Ryan Randolph) Matkin, Cascade, Colo.; sisters, Serena (Coy) Caudell, Turpin, Okla., and Teresa (Rod) Stout, Turpin, Okla.; and grandson, Rogue Randolph. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; and infant sister, Linda.

• Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018 at Brenneman Funeral Chapel in Liberal.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, in care of the Brenneman Funeral Home 1212 W. 2nd St. Liberal, KS, 67901.
