keith connerKeith D. Conner, 60, died Friday, May 3, 2019 due to complications of congestive heart disease. 

He was born Sept. 17, 1958 to Jay E. Conner and Lola Beth (Kendall) Conner in Sycamore, Ill.

He married Sherrie Thomas-Hartshorn March 8, 1980 in Liberal. They divorced in April 1994.

He married Nancy Conner in 2000 in St. Louis. 

He graduated from Liberal High School in 1976. He attended Wichita State University for a semester and returned to Liberal and later attended Kansas School of Men’s Hairstyling in Wichita, graduating in June 1980.

After graduating from barber school, he worked at Rick’s Barber Shop for three years.

He owned and operated Keith’s Barber Styling in Hugoton for 10 years. During that time, he also taught at Seward County Community College from 1991 to 1993. He continued to create his own wheel-thrown pottery and sold his pieces at multiple art shows throughout Kansas.

He enjoyed playing golf; was an excellent carpenter; and enjoyed traveling and spending time with his daughters and grandchildren.

Survivors include his father; daughters: Kendall (Andrew) Runnabaum, Manhattan, Kenzie (Andy) Fankhauser, Rancho Santa Marguerite, Calif., and Kennedy Noelle Conner, Lenexa; brothers: Jay Conner, Washington, and David Conner, Tennessee; sisters, Sheri Conner, Montana, and Kim (Greg) Reimer, Dodge City; grandchildren: Samantha Bolton, Lily Runnabaum, Conner and Lexi Fankhauser; special nephew, Elijay Conner and many other nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Beth Conner; and niece, Katie Nelson.

• Keith chose to be cremated and no services are planned at this time.
