ELKHART – James “Jim” Earl Merritt, 69, died Sunday, April 14, 2019 at Morton County Care Center in Elkhart. 

He was born Aug. 5, 1949 to Earl Oscar and Florence (Weaver) Merritt in Elkhart. 

He married Carol Joyce Ward Nov. 3, 1990 at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Elkhart. She survives.

He worked for the City of Elkhart for many years. 

Survivors also include three daughters: Pammy Baldwin and husband, Dana, Elkhart, Debbie Williams and wife, Eva, Milliken, Colo., andBarbie McCallion, Elkhart; grandchildren: Tannan Baldwin, Garrett Baldwin, Brandon Williams and wife, Jade, Micheal McCallion and wife, Kasey, Christopher Williams and wife, Faith, Gerico McCallion, Cherokee Rankin, Casey McCallion, Jade Williams, and Faith Williams; great-grandchildren, Clay Williams and Tatum Rankin; and other relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents.

• Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at the Elkhart Cemetery in Elkhart.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Robson Funeral Home in Hugoton.
