geneva brunerGeneva Lori Bruner, 98, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2019 at Wheatridge Care Park in Liberal. 

She was born Feb. 8, 1921 to Harry and Nora (Ferguson) Stoddard in Union County, N.M. 

She married John Bruner Nov. 14, 1942. He preceded her in death Aug. 13, 2008.

She was a wife and stay at home mother for many years, She worked as a cook at Kismet Grade School until going to Southwestern Heights. She served as a cook and the head cook until her retirement in 1981. 

She was a member of the Kismet United Methodist Church in Kismet, where she was also a member of the UMW at the church.

She is survived by children, Nancy Louderback and husband, Larry, Liberal, and Jay Bruner, Elkhart; six grandchildren: Jeff Louderback and wife, Teresa, Liberal, Justin Louderback and wife, Jackie, Cheyenne, Wy., Sarah Jo Lemons and husband, Jake, Comanche, Okla., Robin Coffman and husband, Brad, Sayre, Okla., Michael Bruner and wife, Sandy, Tyrone, Okla., and David Bruner and wife, Kim, Yampa, Colo.; brothers, JD Stoddard, Liberal, and Ralph Stoddard, Hugoton; 14 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter-in-Law, Sondra Bruner; four brothers; three sisters; and many nieces and nephews.

• Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2019 at the Kismet United Methodist Church in Kismet.

Burial will follow at the Kismet Cemetery in Kismet.

Friends may call from 1 to 7 p.m. today at Miller Mortuary in Liberal.

Memorials are suggested to the Kismet United Methodist Church.
