gene duboisSATANTA – Gene Paul DuBois, 87, died Friday, March 1, 2019 in Wichita. 

He was born Oct. 21, 1931 to Clinton and Thelma (Krause) DuBois in Great Bend. 

He married Betty Anslinger Nov. 1, 1965, in Clayton, N.M. She survives.

He served in the Korean War from 1952 to 1954 and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Bronze Service Star and Good Conduct Medal. 

He operated C.A. DuBois and Sons Sand Pit in Satanta for several years with his brother, Don. 

He had a long career as an over-the-road truck driver, logging thousands of miles hauling cattle, pigs, fertilizer, milk, and whatever else was asked of him.

Survivors also include sons, Craig DuBois and wife, Beverly, Wichita, and Rick DuBois, Bridgeport, Neb.; daughters: Kaci Pickens and husband, Mark, Enid, Okla., Paula Sosa, Hugoton, and Jeannetta Adamson, Pampa, Texas; brother, Don DuBois and wife, Mayme, Norton; grandchildren: Ashley Loper, Canada, Nicci Munter and husband, Terry, Bemidji, Minn., Josha DuBois and wife, Megan, Lincoln, Neb., Michaela Likes and Michael Adamson, Pampa, Texas, Haley Sosa and Riley Sosa, Hugoton, Emma DuBois, Whitman, N.D., Zachary DuBois, Beatrice, Neb., Dustin Burch, Caney, Amanda Hawn and husband, Chris, Phenix City, Ala., Karli Burch, Weatherford, Okla., Derrick Burch and wife, Lynsi, Oologah, Okla., and Amber Debo, Norman, Okla.; many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews; and many friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dolores Coffee; daughter, Jeana Schuster; and sister, Linda Stringer.

• Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2019, at Dudley Township Cemetery in Satanta, with military rites by Ft. Riley Honor Guard and American Legion 8th District Honor Guard.
