eugene hallEugene Edward “Gene” Hall, 89, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2019 at Homestead Estates Home Plus in Liberal. 

He was born April 16, 1929 to Russell Raymond and Theodora (Eddy) Hall in Rozel.

He married Willa May Munkirs Jan. 10, 1953, in in Harrison, Ark. She survives.

He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict from August 1950 to July 1954.

He worked for the Helium Plant in Keyes, Okla. as a mechanic in the oil and gas industry. 

He also worked at National Beef Packing Company as a mechanic.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Liberal and the Liberal Redskin Band Booster Club. He was ‘That’ Liberal Band’s “Grandpa” for many years.

Survivors include sons, David Eugene Hall and wife, Cindy, Liberal, and Karl Wayne Hall, Liberal; daughter, Phyllis McCarter and husband, Kent, Liberal; brother, Larry Hall and wife Joan, Kingman; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his father, Russell Raymond Hall; mother, Theodora (Eddy) Hall Dennis; stepfather, Clyde Dennis; daughter, Rose Mary Bushell; brother, Donald Hall; sisters, Elizabeth Daniels and Marjorie Unruh; and great-granddaughter, Alyne Rowson.

• Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church in Liberal with Pastor Keith Anglemyer presiding. 

Burial will be at the Liberal Cemetery in Liberal.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2019 with family present to greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Brenneman Funeral Home Chapel in Liberal. 

Memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church or Homestead Estates Home Plus in care of the Brenneman Funeral Home 1212 W. 2nd Liberal, KS 67901.
