daphne rushingDaphne Rushing, 96, died Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Brookdale - Liberal Springs in Liberal. 

She was born May 10, 1922 to John and Esther (Cheney) Brindle in Courtland. 

She married Charles W. Rushing Oct. 25, 1946 in Wichita. He preceded her in death Oct. 8, 1995. 

She was a graduate and valedictorian of Courtland High School. 

During WWII she worked as a secretary at Beech Aircraft in Wichita. 

She was an avid bowler as a member of the Women's Bowling League, loved gardening, working in her yard, had an immaculate home, was an avid sports fan and loved spending time with her grandchildren. 

Survivors include daughter, Sydney Lyn Bond and husband, Benny, Plains; granddaughter, Sara Jo Munn and husband, Derek, Kismet; grandson, Jonathan Shane Rushing, Pauls Valley, Okla.; sister, Nina McClure, Oklahoma City; brother, Jack Brindle, Lake Charles, La.; and many nieces and nephews. 

She was also preceded in death by her parents; four sisters; and two nieces.

• Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2019 at the Miller Mortuary Chapel in Liberal.

Burial will take place at a later date at Maplewood Cemetery in Harrison, Ark. 

There will be no viewing as cremation has taken place.
