charles mccauleyULYSSES – Charles “Chas” A. McCauley, 86, died Thursday, Aug. 1, 2019 at Western Prairie Senior Living in Ulysses. 

He was born Dec. 26, 1932 to Clarence and Hazel (Grisham) McCauley in Bucklin. 

He married Betty Randles in 1968. She survives.   

He was a rancher and enjoyed working with horses and cattle.  Over the years he competed in rodeos as a bronc rider, bulldogger and team roper. He was also a well known horse trader. 

Survivors also include daughter, Brandy Wilson-Mehl and husband, Mark Mehl, Ulysses; and granddaughter, Shelby, Ulysses. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bob McCauley; stepbrother, James McCauley; and son-in-law, Bryan Wilson.

• Graveside services took place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2019 at the Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses with Denton Koehn presiding. 

Memorials are suggested to Cuttin With Shynia or Grant County 4-H Horse Project in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W Grant, Ulysses, KS  67880.
