carlyle kiehneSATANTA – Carlyle Edward Kiehne, 91, died Monday, Oct. 28, 2019 at his home in Satanta.

He was born July 27, 1928 to Carl F. and Edna M. (Olsen) Kiehne in Alexandria, Minn.

He married Maurine (Foster) Kiehne March 26, 1953 at United Methodist Church in Satanta.  She preceded him in death Oct. 18, 2016.

He owned and operated several retail businesses with his wife, including construction of homes and small business buildings. He enjoyed working with his sons on remodeling projects and building homes. 

He served in the United States Army for two years. 

He was an active member in his community, serving with United Methodist Church, Satanta Chamber of Commerce, Satanta Development Inc., Chairman of Great Plains Development, Board Member of Satanta District Hospital, Satanta City Council and a 50 plus years of Satanta American Legion. 

He enjoyed taking trips with his family to Colorado.

Survivors include four sons: Noel Kiehne and wife, Brenda, Satanta, Mark Kiehne, Satanta, Todd Kiehne, Satanta, and Paul Kiehne, LaVeta, Colo.; brother, Jerome Kiehne, Hoffman, Minn.; sister, Joanne Boen, Fergus Fall, Minn.; brother-in-law, Donald Foster and wife, Donna, Satanta; grandchildren: Joel and Kristen Kiehne, Ethan Espinoza, Nevin Kiehne, Darren Kiehne, Carl and Amber Kiehne, Quinton Kiehne and Olga Kiehne; great- grandchildren, Adian Kiehne and Zachary Kiehne; and other relatives and friends.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Tyler Kiehne; brother, Louval Kiehne; and sister, Adrienne.

• Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4, 2019 at the United Methodist Church in Satanta. 

Burial will take place at a later date. 

Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, 2019 at Robson Funeral Home in Satanta.
