betty parksJOHNSON – Betty Lou Parks, 92, died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2019 at the Stanton County Long Term Care Unit in Johnson. 

She was born May 16, 1927 to Clayton Raymond and Mary Ruth (Westfall) Lane in Rocky Ford, Colo. 

She married Richard E. Parks Dec. 9, 1972, in Elko, Nev. He preceded her in death in 2012.

She worked in the fields and was a waitress in the Rocky Ford area.  After she moved to Denver in 1954, she worked at Russell Stover making candy. 

She enjoyed sewing and quilting.

Survivors include her children: Robert Kirkland and wife, Cheryl, Denver, Loyd Kirkland, Manter, Raymond Kirkland and wife, Gail, Denver, Anita Stidham, Denver, Clayton Parks and wife, Brenda, Manter, Pamela Kay Addelman and husband, Larry, Table Rock, Neb., and Ruby May Parks, Phoenix; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; and children: Howard Parks, Nancy Richards, Teresa Tupper and Julie Collier.

• Memorial graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019 at the Hugoton Cemetery in Hugoton, with Erik Miradete presiding.
