HUGOTON – Alta R. (Ponder) Pettis, 90, died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2018 at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Hugoton.

She was born Nov. 7, 1928 to Joseph and Willo Marylee Ponder in Dodge City.

She was a member of the Church of Nazarene in Hugoton.

She was a member of Kiwanis Club in Hugoton. 

Survivors include son, William Edward Oliver Jr., Desert Hot Springs, Calif.; brother, Joseph N. Ponder, Albuquerque, N.M.; seven grandchildren: Regina Oliver-Walls, William Oliver III, Tine Schavers, Darick Oliver, Michelle Palmer, Marqueta Reece, Shawna Hughes; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Christopher Pettis; daughters, Carmen Sue Scott, Allecia Jane Hughes; five brothers; and three sisters.

• Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018 at the Church of the Nazarene in Hugoton.

Burial will be at the Hugoton Cemetery in Hugoton.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Paul’s-Robson Funeral Home in Hugoton.
