Galen Russell Decker, 90, died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018 at his son’s home in Bells, Texas.

He was born April 29, 1928, to Otis and Fannie (Davis) Decker on the family farm in McPherson County.

During WWII, he left home to work in the oil fields and eventually settled in Liberal for many years.

He owned and operated Ideal Motor Service, Midwest Machine (until retirement) and D&S Storage Rentals (post-retirement).

He enjoyed spending time with his children and his grandchildren and loved his farm, restoring his many 1954 Mercurys, restoring his 1940 Chevy pickup, and being a pilot with his own plane.

In his younger days, he rode Harley-Davidson motorcycles and was a member of the local motorcycle club.
