Saturday the Eisenhower cross country team competed in their final meet of the season at Arkalon Park in Liberal. 

“All our runners ran their hearts out and showed great growth as they navigated this course,” Eisenhower coach Brnadi Fowler said. 

The seventh grade girls finished in sixth place. 

“We were low in numbers on this team, but all members showed their heart this season and showed great growth,” Fowler said.

The seventh grade boys finished in second place. The two medalists were Angel Real in fifth place and Daniel Pavia finished fourth. 

“Our runners were very competitive all season long, and we look forward to seeing what they can do in the future,” Fowler said. 

In eighthth grade girls action, the Lady Warriors placed second by just five points. 

“We had great performances by our entire team,” Fowler said. “Our girls ran the best race of their middle school careers. We had two finish in the medals.”

Lexi Franz finished 10th and Hallie West finished in sixth place. 

The eighth grade boys repeated as Western Athletic Conference champions, dominating the league scores all season long. The Warriors had two medalists. David Villa finished 10th, and Daniel Amparan took eighth. The championship team included Villa, Amparan, Gideon Wright, Elian Laguna, Anthony Castilleja, Hudson Brown and Erick Chavarria.
