Early threes and the ability to have 10 Mustangs score paved the way for a come-from-behind win for Southwestern heights Friday with a 61-57 victory over Sublette.

The Mustangs only made seven baskets in the firts half, and they were all threes. The Mustang hit five threes int he firts quarter to take a 15-14 lead, but in the seocnd quarter the Mustangs were only able to hit two long-range shots while the Larks added 14 points, and Heights trailed 28-21 at half.

The Mustangs made their first two-point shot in the thrid quarter and outscored Sublette 14-11 in the period but still trailed 39-35 to start the fourth quarter.

But the Mustangs erupted for 26 points in the fourth with seven different Mustangs making shots. Sublette scored 18 points in the period, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Mustang rally, and Heights came away with the 61-57 win.

Jaziel Martinez and Ruben Torres led the Mustangs with 10 points, but eight other Mustangs score dincluding Efren Mercado (seven), Bryant Olvera (six), Demetrio Flores (six), Juan Garcia (six), Silvestre Bernabe (five), Hever Mercado (four), Izak Castro (four), and Gabriel Arellano (three).

Heights (3-4) will travel to Cimarron Tuesday.
