In the final game of a two-game set with the Park City Rangers, the Bee Jays struggled late, and after a 12-4 blowout win Friday, Liberal fell 11-6 Saturday.

Payton Strambler took the mound and gave the Bee Jays five solid innings, and the game was tied 2-2.

But defensive miscues and struggling to find the strike zone hurt the Bee Jays in the final four innings, and the Bee Jays were otuscored 9-4 late.

Cayde Ward stood out at the plate, turning in a 4 for 5 performance including a double.

Connor Emmet had a 2 for 4 game, and Brandon Holdren hit a home run in the seocnd inning and ended with a 3 for 4 day at the plate.

“We played well until late, and then it got away,” Liberal coach Eric Olmstead said.

The Bee Jays were scheuduled to play McPherson Sunday and Monday, but both games were postponed. Today was expected to be on off day, but the Bee Jays and Pipeliners will play a double header to make up the two games.

The Bee Jays will then head to Wellington to face the Heat for a pair of games Wednesday and Thursday and will then head to Valley Center for a pair of games with the Mud Daubers Friday and Saturday to complete the road trip.

The Bee Jays (5-2) will return to Brent Gould Field to host the Hays Larks Monday.
