A Liberal woman suffered a suspected minor injury as the result of a one-vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon in rural Seward County.

The wreck happened shortly after 4:30 p.m., when the Kansas Highway Patrol said a 1991 Mercury Sable was northbound on Seward County Road R, south of County Road 4, about eight miles east of Liberal.

For an unknown reason, the KHP said the vehicle went slightly off the right side of the roadway. The Sable then re-entered the roadway and overcorrected, entering the east ditch.

KHP said the vehicle rolled an unknown number of times and came to rest upright facing southeast.

The driver, 53-year-old Lourdes Martinez of Liberal, was taken to Southwest Medical Center with a suspected minor injury. She was not wearing her seat belt at the time of the accident, according to KHP.
