Liberal citizens should soon prepare themselves to fly away early next month thanks to the Liberal Chamber of Commerce.

The annual Chamber Bash, which is themed “Come Fly Away With Me” this year, will be coming up shortly and as Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Rozelle Webb tells it, staff and coordinators are excited to see what happens this year.

“The theme for this year, 'Come Fly Away With Me' is very fun and I think everyone is really using their imagination as far as where they want to 'fly away' to and how they'll decorate their tables, so I'm looking forward to seeing how all the tables look and what people come up with for this year,” Webb said. “The Chamber Bash is for everyone in the community who would like to come, and everyone is invited. It's a very nice evening with great food and great entertainment and for the price, it's a great deal for such an evening.”

This year's Chamber Bash will be Saturday, March 9 with the doors opening at 5 p.m. and dinner starting at 6 p.m., and then following dinner will be the awards, including the Merit Awards and Ambassador of the Year and the costume awards and corporate table decoration awards. Then after the awards, everyone will make their way across the hall to the auditorium for the entertainment, which will be comedian Sam Adams. Like in the past, the meal will be a prime rib dinner sponsored by National Beef.

“It's the variety with the entertainment and the different theme each year, and everyone likes looking at the tables. The food is also great, so that's another big draw for people,” Webb said. “I enjoy working with the Chamber board and all our ambassadors. It's a fun project to put together for all of us and it always goes really well, so it's really exciting. We invite all Chamber businesses to call us and get a table set. Having a corporate table offers advertising opportunities to the community and when people come in, people like walking around and looking at all the tables and seeing how they're decorated. You can also advertise to those who sit at your table and help them be more acquainted with your business.”

People can purchase tickets at the Chamber of Commerce office, Southern Office Supply, Equity Bank, or from any of the Chamber of Commerce board members. Dinner and entertainment tickets are $40 and entertainment-only tickets are $20. Other sponsors for this year’s event include Brookdale-Liberal Springs, Black Hills Energy, Electric Motor Service, and Golden Plains Credit Union, among many others.

“I think it'll all go smoothly again like in the past, and I would also say we have only a few corporate tables left, so if you want your business to have one, give us a call at the Chamber and we'll get you set up and get you the information you need,” Webb said. “I'm also excited about our entertainment for this year, comedian Sam Adams, he's really funny and I think he'll be great at entertaining everyone for that evening. And with the costumes, I would say to dress more like the place you'd like to travel to. It's always great seeing people dressed up, it adds to the atmosphere and there are several who love dressing up and there have been some great and original costume ideas that have come to the Bash, it's fun seeing what people come up with each year.”

Webb also emphasized how without all the work beforehand, events like the Chamber Bash would not be possible.

“I would want to thank all of our sponsors for this year's Bash, without them this wouldn't be possible,” Webb said. “I'd also like to emphasize how the Bash is open to anyone who wants to come – you don't have to be a Chamber member, you don't have to work for a Chamber business to come. So purchase a ticket, come on out and have a nice evening with everyone else.”
