A Liberal man suffered a suspected minor injury in an accident last Thursday a few miles west of Kingman.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 1999 GMC Yukon traveling eastbound and a 2017 Ford F150 westbound on U.S. Highway 54 around 5:20 p.m. Thursday about five miles west of Kingman.

The agency said the Yukon crossed the center line, and the Ford swerved to avoid the GMC. The SUV then struck the pickup in the north shoulder.

The GMC’s driver, Garrett Lee Rogers, 22, of Liberal, suffered a suspected minor injury, KHP said, and was taken to Kingman Community Hospital.

The driver of the F150, 41-year-old Patrick Charles Louisa of Spring Hill, had a suspected serious injury and was taken to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

Both drivers were wearing their seat belts at the time of the accident, according to KHP.
