It may not yet quite be time to give out Halloween candy or break out the Thanksgiving feast, but staff at KSCB-The Legend is already planning to help those already thinking of their holiday shopping.

This year's Holiday Home and Fun Show will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10 and 12 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11 at the Seward County Activity Center. Staff is currently looking for vendors to fill out the center that weekend.

“It's a great opportunity for businesses to showcase their services and products to hundreds and hundreds of people all in one spot,” Cheryl Collins, sales manager at KSCB, said. “Also, it's great timing for any home improvement services before it gets too cold to get some work done that needs to be. We'll also have a lot of great vendors out there for holiday decor, health and beauty and clothes and other gifts, so it's really great timing for that too. It's a great opportunity for businesses to show off what they have to a lot of people, more people than would actually step into their store that weekend. We're actually quite a ways into the process of getting everything confirmed and we are still looking for new vendors, we'd like to have more home improvement businesses and things like that. We're still getting businesses confirmed to be there and there's still some we're waiting on. Everyone's definitely building themselves up for this year.”

Businesses interested in having a booth at this year’s event need only call the radio station at 620-624-3891 to get all set up.

Collins said staff is excited for this year’s event and added she hopes to see a lot of vendors and a lot of community members out shopping that weekend.

“We're always hopeful for a great show and what makes it a great show is when the public comes out to see everyone who will be there,” Collins said. “It's a great opportunity for one-stop shopping at a bunch of businesses and looking at their goods and services and everything. We'll also having a prize giveaway like we did at the spring show and we'll have different prizes up for that. We'll have some new vendors for this year, we'll have a lot of the booths who have been at the show each year. We'll have heavy equipment, ATVs, home improvement stuff, jewelry, just a lot of stuff. Wild West Soda will also be there again this year and it's always great seeing people bring in their big mugs and get them refilled. We'll also have the a lady there who will monogram or personalize gifts if you bring them in.”

Even though the event is still a little while away, Collins said she and staff are ready to see what this year will bring.

“With the Holiday Home and Fun Show, it's split between holiday stuff and home stuff whereas the spring show is definitely more dedicated to home improvement stuff,” Collins said. “The holiday show has really evolved into its own entity for each year and we love all the people we see come out. It’s great seeing all the people who come out and support the businesses who are taking the time to come and show their products and services. If there's anyone with any type of business or anything who wants to share what they do, give us a call and we'll get them a spot at the show and get them all set up. Then for the community, be sure and mark the calendar for Nov. 10 and 11 and see what all we'll have for this year!”
