Two men were taken to Southwest Medical Center in Liberal Thursday morning after the semi they were in was reportedly blown across the road.

The Kansas Highway Patrol said shortly before 11 a.m. Thursday, a 2019 Freightliner was southbound on U.S. Highway 83 about a mile north of Liberal.

KHP said a gust of wind blew the semi across the roadway, with the truck coming to rest on its side.

The driver, 39-year-old Christopher Marshall of Springfield, Mo., and a passenger, Jerry Clayton, 50, of Valdosta, Ga., were each taken to SWMC with possible injuries.

KHP said both were wearing their seat belts at the time of the accident.
